Charlotte NOW and Health Care Challenges on 11/1/17

The Nov. 1 Charlotte NOW Meeting features Dr. Jessica Schorr Saxe as guest speaker.

Dr. Saxe worked as a family physician for the underserved for Carolinas HealthCare System for 34 years before retiring in 2015. In practice, she saw people who had not gotten the care they needed due to financial issues. That experience strengthened her conviction that health care should be a human right. She chairs Health Care Justice—NC, a chapter of Physicians for a National Health Program and serves on the national board. In 2016 she won the PNHP Quentin Young Health Activist Award in Washington, DC at their annual meeting.

Date: Wednesday, November 1, 2017
Time: 7:00 to 9:00 PM
Place: International Cultural Center, 1817 Central Avenue Room 210

The Charlotte NOW chapter will be collecting needed items for Changed Choices at our next meeting. The Charlotte NOW Chapter supports Changed Choices, “building lives beyond prison walls.” http://www.changedchoices.org/. They have a transitional home for women being released. Changes Voices need donations of shelf stable food items and household products and supplies ( cleaning supplies and paper products) for their transitional home. They can always use feminine products. Please find it in your heart to bring something to our meeting to help Changed Choices! Thank you!
