Triad Women’s Equality Day Event – 8/26/18

Celebrating the Voices and Victories of the past as we continue to unite women and “March on the Polls” this election season! Recognizing the urgency and importance of this year’s elections, we gather to celebrate women’s hard-won right to vote and take action to make sure we use that right in November to support women’s rights!

Theme: Continuing the March on the Polls
Date: Sunday, August 26th
Time: 3:30 – 5:00 pm
Place: Parkway United Church of Christ, 2151 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27123

Keynote speaker: Rebecca Todd Peters, author of “Trust Women: A Progressive Christian Argument for Reproductive Justice.” Peters is Professor of Religious Studies and Director of the Poverty and Social Justice Program at Elon University. Her work as a feminist social ethicist is focused on globalization, economic, environmental, and reproductive justice.

After our speaker, we invite you to stay for refreshments and the opportunity to learn about additional ways you can get involved in encouraging women to vote this October and November – including our event on October 27 when we will literally March On the Polls at Reynolds Park.

Registration is free – here.

Sponsored by Triad NOW, the Triad Women’s March, Democracy NC, RISE Piedmont Triad and the Justice Collective.
