Raleigh, NC, 9/26/18 – Local leaders and advocates will gather outside Senator Tillis’ office on Thursday, September 27th at 9:30 am to protest the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Following the testimony of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford about Kavanaugh’s past sexual misconduct and claims by two additional women who have stepped forward with similar stories, local constituents will urge Senator Tillis to immediately signal opposition to the Supreme Court nominee and reject his confirmation to the Supreme Court.

Rather than accede to requests for a full FBI investigation of Kavanaugh or pausing the confirmation process as accusations against Kavanaugh have continued to emerge, Senate Republican leaders have so far continued to ram through a Kavanaugh nomination–scheduling a Senate Judiciary Committee vote for less than 24 hours after Ford’s testimony.

Leaders and advocates at the event from Action NC, NARAL Pro-Choice NC, the NC National Organization of Women (NC NOW), and others will give testimony urging Senators Tillis and Burr to stand up for constituents and women by calling for a full investigation of the charges against Kavanaugh, opposing his confirmation and insisting on a process that is fair and deliberative.

WHAT:  Rally against the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh

WHERE: 310 New Bern Avenue, Raleigh (outside Sen. Tillis’ office)

WHEN:  Thursday, September 27 at 9:30am

  1. Please vote NO on the confirmation of Kavanaugh!! He does not have the temperament to be a supreme court judge. His display during the hearings was disrespectful and unbecoming of any professional much less a JUDGE. It is embarrassing to have a president who shows such disrespect for women and now full the Supreme Court with like minded judges is unacceptable.
