Women’s Equality Day events the week of August 26 in North Carolina and Washington DC. Some are in person (Raleigh, Southern Pines and DC). Some are online (Fayetteville, Charlotte).

8/26/21 – noon, #Rally4ERA, in Washington DC

This is a very critical time for the Equal Rights Amendment. The U.S. House has removed the ERA time limit and now the U.S. Senate must act. Join the Feminist Majority, the ERA Coalition, NOW, and other national partners from across the country for a rally on August 26, Thursday, at noon ET on the steps in front of the Supreme Court of the United States, across from the Senate.

8/26/21 – 9am-11am, Women’s Equality Day in Moore County
O’Linda Watkins, President of Moore County NAACP, is organizing some speeches from 9-11 AM in Southern Pines, culminating with a March with women in white suffragist attire to Rep. Jaime Boles’ office with a
petition to “Support Ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment” (in North Carolina)

8/26/21 – 5:30-7pm, Annual Women’s Equality Day Celebration in Raleigh with LWV-WC.
League of Women Voters of Wake County invites all female representatives in Wake County to a celebration of Women’s Equality Day. Cancelled due to Covid concerns.

8/23/21 – 5:30-7:30pm, Virtual Event with Mecklenburg County Women’s Advisory Board
NOW Charlotte was part of the Mecklenburg County Women’s Advisory Board’s Women’s Equality Day Virtual Celebration focused on Mental Wellness – dealing with hardship, darkness and grief during the pandemic in 2020-2021.
