NOW at the national level recognizes the importance of Juneteenth, and TriadNOW participated in the Juneteenth Festival on 6/22/19 in Winston-Salem. Triad Cultural Arts planned the event which included indoor and outdoor components. Indoors at the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter, there was art, health, exhibits and more, from 1pm-5pm. Outdoors there was music and food from 1pm-8pm at Bailey Park.
Triad NOW had a very popular booth featuring standup photos of 4 historic African American women – can you name them from the pictures at the table? Mothers and daughters as well as groups of friends participated trying to win prizes for identifying the women correctly. There were the pictures, and also a set of clues for each woman.
